Actually, south Texas is fairly uninteresting. All there is here is really flat land with few trees and LOTS of RVs...at least this time of the year. The weather is pretty good for winter. 70s or so every day and little rain. I can see why the RVers come.
There is lots of land in crops here. We're talking year round production. Apparently something was ready to be harvested (sugar cane, I think) last week. In the process the fields were burned. Twice we were covered with huge pieces of ash from the fires...that were miles away. It was YUKY!!
I'm looking forward to seeing the Texas hill country (around Austin) next week. I think that will be a little more to my liking.
