We have moved from north Alabama to Pine Mountain, GA, home of Callaway Gardens and only about 15 miles from LaGrange. We are here in anticipation of a Thanksgiving / Christmas celebration with Marie on Saturday.
In the mean time, work continues as usual. Well really not as usual. It has been quieter this week than we expected considering we took three days off for Thanksgiving. This is welcomed and makes us wonder if they are all really that happy with the product or if they just cannot call during our hours?!?! Whatever, it is easy going for us.
I spent yesterday trimming a tree on a decorating job with Marie. It has been a really long time since I did that. It was fun for several reasons...first and foremost, I do not have to take it down (always the worst part of the holidays). Secondly, when you work with an artificial tree, it's easy to make it really pretty. If a limb is in the way or not holding an ornament properly...you just move it. This makes it so much easier to get everything to hang like you want it..but then maybe that was part of the charm of a real tree??
It's project day today and you know what that means....trips to Lowes (in this case Home Depot)...all the way in LaGrange. Distance is funny. It was probably more than 15 miles to Lowes in Atlanta; but, we thought nothing or running there repeatedly on a Saturday. Just because the 15 miles is through the "Country" here it seems SOOOOOO far...go figure. I'll keep you posted on the progress.
