This pour was very different from the last. Rather than a pumper truck, concrete was ported through 100 feet of hose that it took 2-3 people to drag around...remember, this thing was full of concrete!! The hose pulsed as the pumper ran. At one point, the hose was passed over a freshly poured wall. Don and I held the hose over ladders on each side of the wall...not an easy task as it pulsed and beat against us.
Neighbors even came to visit...at inopportune moments, unfortunately...one even on horseback. It was nice that they thought to stop by. I wish we could have stopped to visit. Joe is a long time resident of Custer county and has been helping people build houses for many years. I am always amazed at how many people he knows. It seems to be everyone. I hope that one day we can know even half as many.
In the spirit of "Design as you go", we gained a slab in the crawlspace that will easily hold the pressure tank and other utilities that were slated for the laundry room. What a nice space gain for that room.
The photos show how we look after today. It's on to the floor joists and flooring. I'll keep you posted.
