First of all, I really need no one to feel sorry for us at all. It seems that we are two of a kind. If left on our own, we will pick up a computer and work. I guess it is not really work for us. Just a form of entertainment.
I realize that there are a lot of other things that we are missing...but right now the desire to have it all done and no-one waiting for something is quite a strong motivational factor. So we work...most of the time.
We didn't work yesterday. We went to the Jack Daniels Distillery in Lynchburg, TN. A nice trip on a beautiful day. The distillery is really interesting. It was funny that I really heard them call it a "still" this time...I took this tour the first time 15 years ago.
My thoughts wandered yesterday to think about my dad and how he reported stills to the sheriff that he found on his property...more than once. I can remember too that he did analysis on the "shine" to find just what had made it taste funny (i.e., bugs, heavy metals, bacteria...you name it) And he did studies on the folks who drank the stuff finding out that they had died of lead poisoning...bugs...etc..you name it. That stuff was nasty.
Of course Jack Daniels does not fall into that category at all...but the similarities were still there...pun intended!!
While I work today I am being entertained at the bird feeder that hangs just outside my window. It is busy there today since I filled the seed this morning. There are birds here that I don't recognize...but they are all such oportunists. One of them even climbed into the feeder...no small feat..to get just the certain piece of see it wanted...picky!!
The weather finally turned to Fall this week. Lows are into the high 30s. Highs during the day are still fairly warm...70+. Sunny and gorgeous.
