It seems like there is no better time than the present to start telling everyone again about what we're doing her in the wilds of South Dakota. In general, it work on work and work on the house. There has been a little time for life lately...and it has been wonderful.
I'll spend the next few days getting you caught up on the last year. Working back from now...
This weekend could have been better only if I had not been stung four times by angry wasps. Generally they are very docile. YOu can even work near them as long as you are not too near. Standing right next to the nest when you open the doors on the cabinet is a little too close. The neighbor standing next to me was far enough away. They did not touch him...right. They stopped stinging at 20 feet. They returned to the nest at about 50 feet....no water or other spray needed. Luckily, I am not allergic to the stings. Just a little swelling. No after effects.
Now, what made this weekend so wonderful was the Custer County Fair. I entered my pound cake and an applesauce spcie bread with raisins. The pound cake took a second place and the applesauce bread won a first place in its category. I am really excited about entering in the state fair next week. I'll keep you posted.
