WE moved since we talked last. We are now in South Dakota...Surprise.
We did not quite make it to Rapid City yesterday. We are within 200 miles and just could not make that last leg. With rain moving in, we began looking for a place to stay for the night.
That is more easily said than done in this state at this time of the year. All the campgrounds are closed until MAY. That seems late; but then, they know their season. A sign for a KOA prompted a call with hopes that we would find a place other than a truckstop. We were in luck. A very generous woman named Rozz welcomed us with apologies that there would be only electricity and no water. Having water on board, that was fine. We were able to relax with dinner and a good night's sleep.
Today's trip to Rapid City was postponed when we awoke to rain and high winds and the weather map showed snow and ice to follow!! I know that the cold, rainy weather has been moving with us all winter; but this is ridiculous!! So we imposed on Rozz for another day.
Luckily this was no problem. An hour after the arrangements were made, the snow set in. For me, it's lots of it. As I've said before, it's fun to watch as long as you don't have to get out in it. We are safe and warm and not out in it...so it is fun.
