Corn...Corn...Corn...and then some more Corn!!!

Let me tell you folks, the Indians knew what they were doing when the "white man" found him growing corn. For once the "white man" was smart enough to learn something...from someone who had done it for years. Corn grows well in this country.

I have seen corn growing in states where I never would have believed it would grow...especially so well. We left corn in eastern South Dakota...Watched the fields separated by acres of other crops in Minnesota...Marveled at the amount of corn grown in south central Wisconsin...Were amazed at the amount of corn grown in northern Illinois..And then were surprised when there was not quite as much in Indiana. (and I know that Iowa looks the same...I've seen it...just not on this trip)

That's what four out of five states in the past few days with corn so even that it hides the natural dips in the landscape. It truly is like a golden sea. This should be seen by everyone at least once.

The harvesting was interesting also. Corn kernels coming from the thrasher so thick that it appeared to be a liquid flow rather than the flow of solid pieces. I can see how you could drown in that stuff.

On the lighter side, the following was seen on the back door of a restaurant in Goshen Indianna. It makes you wonder what they were thinking...or what exactly the bell is for if you have to go to the other door anyway!!

PS: I'm glad to hear that Mosaic Mom likes the tiles and Plant Daddy is enjoying the licorice.
