We have one thing planned. The hamfest in Friedrickshafen. It is a show like Dayton where we might show our product... especially after it's translated... one of those things to do. We decided to come see the show before we commit to it. The show is Friday, Saturday and Sunday. We will be there two of the three days. Should be interesting.
As for the rest of the trip, the food has been the most fun. Today we traveled from Frankfurt to Lindau: about a 6 hour trip via autobon... yes, they do 100... actually 120 on those roads. You must remember that's kilometers per hour not miles per hour. That's about 85 mph top speed.. although some go faster... lots faster. The German countryside reminded us of Missouri, California and northern Tennessee. It's interesting how similar places appear.
However, at a rest stop, we got adventurous for lunch. Rather than having McDonalds.. although that can be an adventure in a foreign country... we ventured into a Waffle House for pasta. The guy was cooking the pasta dishes at the counter while you waited. The show was great!! The food was even better!!! You can see here the two we tried... one with an idea of what it was, the other just something we let the waitress pick... why not!!
Tomato-Mozzarella Ravioli a la Bolognese mit Parmesian und grunem Salat (at least I could read most of this one.. that's green salad at the end).
Below is Bunte Lauchrahmschupfnudeln mit Rostzwiebel und grunem Salat (Colorful Leek Cream Noodles with Fried Onions and green salad). It was great!!It was a fun stop as well as being filling.
So then what do you expect... we had McDonalds for dinner. And to reassure us that we are no longer in the US, there sat a dog in line at McD's. Go figure!!
This definitely is not Kansas anymore.
