Halt!!

We went from a beautiful weekend to 4 inches of snow almost overnight. Temps have dropped from 65 to -1 (yes that is a high). The snow has done what it does best: brought building to a complete halt.

But before it did...Monday was like Grand Central Station at our site. I guess it was the storm before the calm. The accomplishments that day included...

- Installation of the well pump - we have water now. Not that we can use it yet with all the dirt in it...but we have water.
- Construction of a driveway - This was a splurge; but, Rod said it was really nice on Tuesday when he drove on it. We have lived with humps and bumps on the old driveway. This one is done right. The young man we hired did such a nice job.
- Delivery of the wall panels for the house - Unloading them was scary!! They have bigger forklifts at the factory. Rod did a really great job with the tractor. We broke only one part of a bottom edge and no-one was hurt in the process of unloading. The panels are snug and hopefully dry under tarps. I'm anxious to get to the point of putting them up.
- The electrical inspector came by for an inspection - turns out that since we are not living in what we wired, it does not need to be inspected.
- One of our friends who helped with the foundation walls stopped by with a custom cabinet builder - Don't know where this one will go; but it might be a way to get the kitchen and bathroom cabinets that I want.

Quite a day..and now we wait.
