Backwards

while I can't do the entire month, I can do the last few days.

I am in Jacksonville, FL this week for a conference on exporting. I thought I had a little to learn to fill in a few blanks. As I sat through the 8-hour discussion, that I knew so much less than I thought!!!

Luckily, I met two very nice ladies from two different freight forwarders. Freight forwarders process the paperwork for export shippers. The paperwork is complicated in that there can be MANY answers to several of the questions. A great deal of information must be gathered for proper processing. These forms track foreign trade statistics... and often the correct information is not available and one must guess at the answers.

So, our discussions revolved around two questions...

If the "government" wants to encourage US business to entertain foreign markets... Why is it SOOOOOO difficult to complete the paperwork requirements?

Who tested this software???? While all the details are there, who checked the logic for data entry... YUK. It would have NEVER gotten past my quality control!!!

I came away knowing that I need to research more than I know about my product.
