The weather that is. We have had two days of freezing fog. It is predicted to last at least through noon tomorrow. Then the snow is coming again.
It was SOOOOO quiet tonight when I walked home with the dog. The temperature is not terribly cold (about 30 degrees... no, it seems colder when you're inside looking out.) There is usually a dog barking in the distance or a car off on the highway... but tonight there was only the ringing in my ears. The fog has such a dampening effect.
This is what an ice storm is like for us. Quiet and dark. And in that quiet the ice captures the trees and weeds in their last supple position freezing it there in a layer of ice that continues to grow in the silence.
