I learned a new word today. Graupel - granular snow pellets.
Starange looking snow. White but not flakes. I have seen it several times since being here and always wondered it if had a name. My local friends were quick to educate me. I finally looked the word up today and was surprised to find it is a real word...figured it was a local term.
So, I'm watching a lot of it fall today. Some falkes. Some grapel. At this point, we're glad for the moisture in any form...although I really don't want to have to shovel it.
