Happy Thanksgiving

A very Happy Thanksgiving to everyone tomorrow.

May you enjoy the day in whatever way you plan to spend it. Happiness is enjoyed from within not received from the outside. Anything is right no matter how far from tradition it might wander.

As for us, we will spend the day working on the house. The weather here is wonderful right now and we plan to take full advantage of it while we can.

The place is beginning to look like a real job site. We are forming footings: the hardest part of the job. Once this is done, we are committed to it however it comes out. We need it to come out as close to the plans as possible to avoid design delays in the walls. Hopefully we will be finished and ready for concrete by the end of the weekend. That's what we're shooting for.

This has become a "design as you go" project. The rock we encountered under the garage is driving several decisions. Today alone the garage lost a foot...the hot water heater, furnace and pressure tank moved from the utility room to the garage...then it moved across the garage and the door into the house moved across the utility room...the front of the garage gained a window...and so it goes until it's built.

This is the most fun we've had on a project in a long time!!
