You know to suspect that it will be a bad day when you pour orange juice instead of milk into your coffee in the morning.... I guess I was not awake yet.
The day turned out not so bad as it began. We worked cleaning pavilions and firepits...sounds awful; but it was good manual labor. That seems to make things better at times.
It is still very hot here. Temps are reaching the 100 degree mark...but the humidity is still below 40%...high for here..low compared to what we grew up with! We are hoping for a break in it this weekend. In the mean time we we are staying in doors quite a bit.
The fire is almost out. It burned almost 5000 acres about 30 miles from here. There were days that we were in the smoke and wondered which direction the flames would take. It was a little scary for a while. It's nice to see the skys clear again and know that the danger has passed. We felt a little left out when the fire in Colorado was on the news and this one was not. I guess two houses, a barn and 5000 acres is just not sensational enough for today's news hounds...or nobody told them about it!?!?!?
Summer marches on. We can't believe that it's already mid July!!! I thought life was supposed to be slower when you lived this RVing style??? Doesn't see so.
