Another year... another fair. This one is in the record book.
A moderate success. 109 entries. More entries than last year... YEA (a pitiful showing last year. 74 entries if I remember correctly!)
Thinking about not doing this again. Can't seem to justify that decision. It's really only several phone calls to arrange for judges and two days worth of work at the event. How hard is it really.
In my normal way I shook things up this year. A new judge. A good plan to broaden the pool from which the four judges are selected. Need to talk to Connie about one or two more especially if the number of entries increases as I expect it to.
Showed up with 4-H Judging Rules. Was fearful that these would be ill received since these ladies have been judging for a long time. Was wrong there. They not only appreciated having the information, they all took their copies to read over again for next year. Another success.
All four judges commented on how well organized I was with everything. That was enough to push me over the edge... I guess I'm in it again for next year.
