Tis the season... Sturgis Rally week. Probably 100K bikes in the Hills this week. The rumble is constant even here so far from the pavement. Figure it's being channeled through the valley.
All summer we're reminded about the bikes (they are around all summer not just this week) and about being careful to watch for them when driving. There are always several accidents.
Let me tell you... it is not always the fault of the person driving the car... would be willing to bet it's less often the car's fault.
I had one pair of bikers pull out in front of the truck... this is a Ford 350 doolie... not small.. way too close. Then not get up to speed quickly. If we had not adjusted, that would have been at least one for the record books. I could not resist the horn on that one.
Then yesterday there were at least a dozen in a group going the wrong way down and exit ramp I guess because they had gotten off at the wrong place. Several others were waiting on the right shoulder for their bodies to defy death with this maneuver.
When did the rules of the road cease to apply to them?!?!?!
Was glad to get home safely yesterday. We decided to make it more simple this year... we're leaving. By the time we get back.. the bulk of the idiots should be gone.
Love the tourists... hate the idiots!!!
