Surprise Cake

This cake made me think of the pranks of the late 60s and early 70s when chocolate Ex lax was first introduced. Teenagers thought it was so "cool" to mix it into brownies or just pass it off as chocolate candy to unsuspecting adults. Who did they think they were kidding!!!

What they did not know was it does not take Ex lax to get those same results. A little pumpkin in place of the oil will do as well...almost.

It does make a really good cake.

1 box chocolate cake mix...always chocolate. Is there anything else???
1 1/3 c water
1/2 C pumpkin puree (canned will work. This is not pumpkin pie filling.)
3 eggs

Mix and bake as directed. The cake is a little heavier but wonderful in flavor and texture.

The results are fairly dramatic at first. After about a week, your body adjusts to the extra fiber.

Frost it with low sugar chocolate frosting and you have a real treat.

Be prepared!!! You know...I need to check for a layer cake category in the fair next year. What a dirty trick!!!
