The 4th of July is celebrated in and around Rapid City something like New Year's Day. The celebrations take place on the evening of July 3rd and everyone recuperates on July 4th.
We had the privilege of joining in a celebration last night which included watching the fireworks at Mt Rushmore from the back deck of our neighbor's house. Even from about 10 miles they were still impressive.
It was a wonderful evening complete with good food and new friends. We hope to get the opportunity to know these folks well during the years we are here.
We spent today putting OSB board onto the framing for the garage. It looks more like a room with every change.
The trusses for the roof arrive tomorrow...can't wait to get started on those!! There should really be something to see in the next few days.
