I want to thank Animal Planet Report for the following story:
It seems that a cat in Ohio called 911 for help for his master. The man who is confined to a wheel chair fell while transferring himself from the chair to the bed. He feared that he would be be stuck there for hours. Ten minutes later the police arrived in response to a 911 call.
Knowing that he had not made the call, the police found the cat sitting next to the phone with it off the hook. The man explained that the emergency number was programmed into one of the buttons on the phone and that he had been working with the cat in an attempt to explain use of that button in case of emergency. He had wondered if the cat understood the training. I guess he has his answer.
I always knew that cats were smart!!
