We spent the weekend in Dayton Ohio at the Hamvention. This is the largest gathering of ham radio enthusiasts in the country. The show was better then great. Not only were the sales good; but the contacts with several overseas distributors hold the promise of more business...we'll see where that goes.
The Hamvention also brought with it friends we have not seen in many years. I think that's a major reason why we still do that show. There are always a few surprises in the group of friends we see.
My program was introduced. The folks selling it we not set up to demo it so it did not do as well as I had hoped. I started doing demos under the guise of having just bought it...if you listened, you could really tell that I had not just bought it...but no one questioned me. Then just watched. I showed it to important folks at ARRL and it looks like it will get a new product review in one of the magazines. These will help with marketing for it.
As always, the Ying demands a Yang. It was a wonderful weekend and now, I'm waking up in Salt Lake City...no, I'm not supposed to be in Salt Lake City. The flight out of Cinncinatti was late causing us to miss out connection to Rapid City. We stayed at Delta's expense. I guess there could be worse things.
Once home there will be grass to mow and other tasks to keep us busy as we help get the campground ready for the season...that begins Memorial Day weekend. The snow really put us behind and now all the workers are scrambling to get things looking nice. I't like a party. We'll get it done somehow.
Breakfast and my flight home await. I'll let you kow how Chester did being boarded once we get him this afternoon. I already plan to get chicken before I get him...Pease offering!!
