With school beginning there is the yearly cry for donations of school supplies.
I want to help... I always want to help. But, it appears that I am not as easily separated from my money as I thought I could be.
An idea... take my Office Depot rewards that are about to expire and use those to purchase school supplies. Great idea. This is found money anyway. Off to Office Depot with my $56.42.
I think this will take lots of time to spend.... wrong. First I was daunted with a decision of what would be best to buy... paper... pencils... colored markers... calculators... rulers???? Arrrrg!!
So, I gave one of the coupons to a mom buying for two kids. She was surprised and grateful. I think that it put barely a dent in her tab... but it helped.
The other took less than 10 seconds to spend... how disappointing. I was surprised at how expensive things were. The money I had left sure did not go far!!! No wonder they ask for donations.
