We're off again. To Portland this time for testing with our new USB circuit. The testing seems not to be the most scientific we've ever seen; but it gets our name on a list and gives us the right to use a USB certified emblem on our site.... so we do it.
The trip started out differently than most. The flight was not until 10:00 AM... that's late for us. Rod usually books the 6:00AM flight that requires a wake up at about 3:30AM. The change was nice.
Airport security was the next questionable activity... for several reasons.
We were traveling with a mobile radio (6" square black box) and a power supply (again, another 6 inch square black box) in our carry on computer case. Surrounding these were several lengths of wire... required power cords and other connections. Realize, this is two black boxes they see when X-rayed... could not have been anything else, these two are metal. I truly expected this bag to be searched. In my mind, it had all the looks of something that should not get on a plane without an explanation.
So, with the shuffle of a busy security station, it went right through without question. Didn't make me any too comfortable!!!
Then at the same security check point, there is a woman with too many liquids. After she gets cleared, she is on her hands free phone talking loudly about how she squeezed cream from one container into another to end up under the 3 oz requirement. Again both scary that an unmarked cream was allowed and that she did not know the rules about liquids for carry-on. Where has she been? Has she not listened to TV news in the last 10 years??? Makes you wonder???
The flight to Minneapolis was uneventful... yes, we really went to Minneapolis to get to Portland. The sushi in Minneapolis was wonderful... yes, really sushi in an airport. The flight back to Portland was long.
Air travel... what else is there to say these days?!?!
