It has been a long hot summer with not much to talk about... or at least that's how it seemed. Let's see what I can catch you up on.
July...
Bathroom remodeling. Leave it to us not to be able just to buy a house and live in it. The first thing it needed was a full bathroom on the main floor. Makes it much more sellable with "first floor living". This could not be simple... if you think it was, you don't know us very well. Took four weeks to find the tile and a week after that to figure out the pattern. Did not hurt my feelings that the contractor was delayed.
This is the result...
July also included a trip to Monument, CO (well south of Denver) for a hamfest. Went on Friday to do the show on Saturday. I did the hamfest... Rod kept the dog. Thought Jack would handle it OK as long as we were with him. Took the dog three days to get oer that overnight trip... won't do that again!!
Show was good. People were very interested. Doing a Tech Day in that area in September... not overnight this time.
The first of July began with the launch of a new web site for RT Systems. Check it out at www.rtsystemsinc.com What you see is the result of 6 weeks of work for me, about 3 for Rod, and two for my graphic artist. There are a lot of man hours in that site. It is doing well. Things that we never sold before are now attracting interest. I guess I did something right with regards to organizing the products.... YEA!! Lots more to do. Once we get over that initial push we'll get back on it.
August....
Again.... Hot! just mulling along waiting for the heat to break. The neighbors bought a new boat... now that's the way to beat the heat. Met other neighbors for game night. Looking forward to it soon.
Off to Huntsville Hamfest. First time in 13 years for that show. Although we have been in Athens for events with Rod's family, we have not been in Huntsville. It was strange how unfamiliar EVERYTHING was!!! It was like being lost although you knew you had been there before. Very strange feeling.
My graphic artist presented me with this piece of "jewelry" to wear at the show. It made quite a hit.
Can't believe that August is almost gone.
The evenings are a little cooler now. Bought running shoes today. They had to be waiting for me.... they were a returned special order and the ONLY pair in my size. I guess this is meant to be!!
Lots of little incidents of thinking of people who then come into my life. Domenic as even noticed how often this happens. Interesting!!!
A run of bad boxes then bad boards (two different ones... at least we had the three things go wrong in that run in a short time... then a very small Yaesu order. Christine was the first to notice that this was not a bad thing. We could have have handled a big order this month with the material problems. We had to agree that we are not in charge of these things We'll leave this in Their hands. They are doing a really good job.
More things to come... I promise. Now that I know your following this blog, I'll work on it more often although I am not promising every day.
